Let me start by saying that Family Guy is an absolutely amazing show. It is enormously funny and entertaining and every episode has something new to laugh about. With this being said, I am sick of Family Guy. That’s right, it is an amazing show and I am absolutely sick of it. This is because of people. Ever since the show has grown in popularity, people have been making references to it with every little thing that happens in life. This is the reason I am so sick of it. The over use of comparing it to every day things just completely ruins the greatness of the show. Sure the first time someone makes the reference it’s funny, but after that it just gets annoying.
This phenomenon has happened many times. Take Napoleon Dynamite for instance. When I first saw this it was really funny and enjoyable. About a week afterwards I was so pissed because of the unbelievable amount of quotes from this movie that I heard. Every other line that came out of someone’s mouth, was movie quote from Napoleon Dynamite. Another example is more recently with Borat. This movie is still getting over-quoted and I just cannot take it.
Yes, these are very funny movies, but everyone is absolutely killing them and it irks me very much. It makes you never want to see the movie again so you are not only doing an injustice to the people who have to put up with listening to you but you are also screwing over the people who came up with these great movies. So please, I ask you Mr. Movie Overquoter, stop now before it gets worse. We are all sick of you and your overkill. Thank you.
